These past two years has been a wonderful journey living here at Hawaii Student Housing. The accommodations and the affordability that has to offer has been really convenient overall for students like myself, especially living in Hawaii and that is the reason I’ve stayed with Hawaii Student Housing throughout the years.
Being a college student as you may know, it’s hard to get by financially to support yourself and get an education all at the same time. Being brought up in a household of five and having one financial supporter was rough, but it was what inspired me to become independent and to make a living all on my own while pursuing my college career away from home. In the process of making my decision to go to college I needed to find a place to live that worked with my budget. As a college student and seeing the struggles, personally, when it comes to financials, the last thing you want to worry about is a lot of bills.
Student Housing has offered great accommodations in its residence package in many ways. From paying just rent and not having to worry about unreliable roommate problems and extra utility bills which have helped me a lot being a student originally from the neighbor islands and coming to Oahu to further my education. Another great thing I love about living here at this student housing is the convenience that it has to offer with transportation, its location to and from school and the wide range of activities it has going on at or around the student housing. My favorite part about living here is the warm welcoming staff, from managerial, front desk to your folk’s maintenance team, which all have been really helpful and caring over these last couple of years. Best part about living anywhere comes down to having that sense of “Home away from Home” and that’s what this place has to offer. I have met a lot of friends and established tons of memories here as well.
I really enjoy living here and would like to finish my last year in college living at this residence. This is a place I call home and hopefully in this last year of college, I can still call it home.
My experience at the keeps getting better each semester. The RAs care about our needs and concerns and are always available at the front desk. The maintenance will fix and repair anything in the room within a short amount of time. Everyone who works here is friendly. There is always a ton of action going around in the building, people coming in from school, lounging on the couches doing homework or watching TV, and visiting with the RAs at the desk. It feels like a little community, I never feel lonely living here! I have always felt safe--the building is secure and the staff takes safety very seriously. You really cannot beat living 2 blocks away from the beach either. I’ve been here for a few semesters and I don’t see any reason to leave, I’m very happy living here!
The Staff is amazing! From the front desk staff, the maintenance staff and the office workers; they make you feel at home. Everyone is very friendly and highly energized. If you have questions, most the time they know the answers. If not, they know who to call. The staff is happy to help you with anything from work orders to roommate problems. When I graduate, I will be sad to leave the friends I made in the staff and within The Ohana Dorm.
The staff of the Ohana student housing keeps the building very safe and secure. Every weekend, a security guard or police man has a presence out front to deter ill-wishers. The staff regularly checks on the building taking time to go through each floor. The staff responds quickly and efficiently to any situation and can be counted upon to insure your safety. I feel very safe living in the middle of Waikiki at the Ohana Dorm.
I would definitely recommend the Ohana Dorm student housing as an option for incoming Freshmen because of the great service and environment. The Ohana Dorm has helped me make friends through the student activities on property and off property. My experience has been great!
The Ohana student housing is in a great location. From the lanais (balconies), you can see Manoa, Koko Head, Diamond Head and the ocean. The Ohana Dorm is surrounded by all the fun of Waikiki but quiet and peaceful even on lower floors. You can go outside and enjoy the crowds or hop into your room and study for exams. There are over 15 buses that run within a block of the Ohana Dorm so you can go virtually anywhere on Island. The Ohana Dorm is a great place to be for someone looking for the best Hawaii has to offer.
Overall, the staff has been extremely considerate, helpful and prompt in responses. They definitely try to keep the students safe regarding security and enforcing building rules.
Great Service! The RA’s are awesome, the location and cost is pretty good and the rules are very reasonable. Speedy responses to work orders. Thank you!
It was comfortable at the Ohana Dorm and for the benefits we get, relatively cheap. I enjoyed the study room and I love that all my friends are only a few floors away making it very easy to stay in contact with them. You won’t find anything in Waikiki for this price and offerings.
The events hosted by the Ohana Dorm have helped me meet new people! I have enjoyed the friendly staff and the preventative bug control the most in my time here.
I am going to renew my lease with the Ohana Dorm! I have lived with Hawaii Student Housing for 2 years and it’s so convenient for college students. It’s a safe environment and very affordable. I’m lucky we even get maid service; they are quick, yet do a qualified job. I love coming into my room after they clean it. It smells so clean!! The Ohana Dorm is my living experience of being in college and being on my own. It feels like an actual living experience rather than a dorm atmosphere. And that’s a GOOD thing!
My daughter moved to Hawaii, for all of the obvious motives, and we chose for her to reside at the Ohana student housing for many different reasons. My main concern as her parent was the safety of the building. The main consideration for keeping the students safe was the staff of the building, the policies that were written for the students and procedures that the staff took to keep them enforced. They had an efficient way to ensure my daughter’s safety with checks at the front desk, keys for the entry points of the building (including the elevator), strict drug enforcement policy, and a camera system. The efficient staff was always available to answer mine or my daughter’s questions and was quick to respond.
Ohana also offered the ease of a moderate kitchen, including an oven, which allowed her to eat in rather than going out. As a parent this was a huge deal as it taught her money responsibility and budgeting, caused her to learn to cook, and saved me the expense of a student meal plan through her university.
My daughter lived in the Ohana Dorm for over 3 years until she graduated from Hawaii Pacific University. The atmosphere of the building was great and provided a student population. I strongly feel that if she did not have the opportunity of living at the Ohana Dorm that her college experience would not have been as wonderful as it was. My other daughter is looking at colleges currently for next year. If she chooses to move to Hawaii for school, she will definitely be living at the Ohana Dorm. That is guaranteed!
